Kind of interesting that Taylor Swift's first magazine cover as an unknown 16 yr old aspiring artist was Sea Ray living magazine (2006). Seems the family had a 420DA and a Sundeck on Old Hickory lake, Tn. Her Dad was a Merrill Lynch Financial type.

I think it was 2006 we went to a small local venue to see Craig Morgan and she was an opener for him. We were very impressed with the little girl nobody knew.
Now, not so much. But she certainly has been successful. Good for her!

IIRC that was when we used to get the magazines. I remember reading the article.

Attendance way up for Aquapalooza 2007
August 17, 2007

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Sea Ray’s on-the-water celebration AquaPalooza drew more than 10,000 boats and 30,000 guests worldwide to 120 local events — 43 percent more boats and 42 percent more attendees than the 2006 inaugural event, Sea Ray reported in a release today.

Coordinated by Sea Ray Boats and its network of worldwide dealers, events were held on rivers, lakes, and harbors around the world during the last two weekends in July. Sea Ray dealers as far away as Austria, Egypt and Australia helped organize AquaPalooza events, which the company called “a stunning success.”

Originally created as a Sea Ray owners’ event, AquaPalooza quickly grew, inviting all boaters and boating enthusiasts to take part, no matter the brand of their boat. “We wanted boaters of all stripes to join the fun and get a closer look at our models and the lifestyle that comes standard with owning a Sea Ray,” said Rob Noyes, vice president of marketing for Sea Ray. “The annual summertime gala has gained a reputation as the Super Bowl of boat bashes. No one throws a party like Sea Ray.”

This year’s signature event, hosted by Prince William Marine Sales of Woodbridge, Va., drew thousands of boating enthusiasts to the Potomac River near Washington, D.C. Platinum-album-selling country star Taylor Swift headlined the celebration. Participants enjoyed waterslides, volleyball contests, a charity dunk tank, kids’ treasure hunt on the beach and a fireworks finale. According to local officials, the number of boats is estimated at 1,200 to 1,300, making AquaPalooza the largest on-water event ever held in the area, Sea Ray said.

Yep, I think we have one of those Sea Ray living magazines and remember when she was at the Aquapalooza event Sea Ray put on here on Lake Lanier in 06/07. Had no idea who she was for years and one day I was like is that they same kid they had at the first Aquapalooza? We had a great time at those events back in the day. I'm getting old, LOL.

When we bought Beachcomber in 2010 we had her trucked to Portland, OR to be reassembled and some additional equipment installed. When she was ready to be picked up in July we took her up the river a few miles to Columbia River Yacht Club where they were having an Aquapoloza festival.

I had to back in between 2 boats to stern tie at their dock. Can you say NERVOUS? I managed to pull it off but sweated off about 5 pounds in the process. What a great way to start our life with her!

I’d have her on my boat anytime she wants to come.

I was at this aquapalooza. My friend lives in VA and we took his 22 Searay Cuddy to go watch the show. It was a really good show with everyone asking after the show “who is this girl, she is really good”

Awesome event…..I was there and watched TS perform. Got pictures someplace…..and had a huge time with the music, boats and crowd.

Not a fan of her pop music.

I'm having a hard time finding the aerial shot of the boats.....this is a shot from the stage. The estimates were over 1,000 boats and 6,000 people showed up. In my opinion it was the best media event SR has put on. Unfortunately it fell off pretty quickly.

She did a great job. I'm sure SR gave her family a new boat for doing the show.

Actually, this day was decent but Day 2 had bad weather inbound and that bottom area of Fairview Beach is sand/mud. We snuck out with two guys in the water pulling us past boats until their feet couldn't touch the bottom. After that it was still slow going to get to open water with anchor lines everywhere.

We finally reach open water when the storm hits. Plenty of poor quality Youtube videos record what happened next. It was bad. I recall 5 boats sunk.....emergency calls .....people going to hospitals...anchor lines (belonging to other boats) being cut by people trying to leave......basically the worst boating behavior possible.

I suppose that could be one of the reasons they no longer do the show.

From a couple of friends that did not leave early.....

I purchased my 390 from a couple in Hendersonville TN. He was a AA pilot and the wife worked with swifts dad at Merrill Lynch. They knew the family well. He said they boated with the family a lot on old hickory lake. She had a monster house in Hendersonville for awhile.

Not a fan though.

Tough crowd here …. Hating on a poor girl who basically transformed country and pop completely on her own talent. It’s like Brady…. You can hate him but you have to respect the talent and accomplishments
