Anyplace to dock & eat in Tawas? We went over there this summer and wanted to eat someplace, Just ended up walking downtown from the state docks. Just curious if there is a decent place to eat with a dock. I boat out of Caseville Mi. and we have 100 miles of shoreline with zero places to dock & eat.

I think you can dock at the hotel and eat, otherwise its downtown or go left and walk a few blocks to a chinese place or a mile and a half to bigboys or backwoods steak house. They reopened the dockside restraunt in baycity also this year and opened the real seafood company which has slips up to 25 ft just south of downtown baycity in the new dow complex, there is a pub style place there in the dow complex also.It dose kinda suck dont it.One more is if you can make the bridges in the kawkawlin river you can dock at the restraunt there, cant remember the name right now though.

From the city docks you can turn north and walk about 1/2 mile to the hotel. They have a pretty decent restaurant. Then after dinner walk across US-23 to the little ice cream place for a great cone. They also have decent pizza.

Don't forget Hooters in Bay City! The wings there are good. The breasts are even better!

I thought I heard of some place to eat in Tawas that had a dock. The bad part about Bay City is that it is 50 miles from me and then it takes an hour to get up the river because most of it is no wake. Tawas is only 25 miles across the bay, just looking for a destination with a dock.

Maybe instead of Tawas you should try East Tawas. The state dock is perfect for walking the three blocks of East Tawas. There are a few choices both left and right of the state dock. We always enjoyed G's Pizzeria. Great pizza and other entrees.

I guess I should have been more specific - I was talking about East Tawas - I just can not understand why I have 100 miles of shoreline and can not pull up to a damn dock for a beer & a burger - My aunt lived on a in-land lake in wisconsin and there were places to eat all along it where you could boat up to. I'll just keep dreamin'

You can be in port austin fairly quick also, lots to choose from there.Oh and i was wrong about east tawas the chineese place is two blocks north of the docks.Harrisville has three restraunts also within 4 blocks of the docks. But like i said we are dockage food poor.I am thinking you could get in to bay port and walk a block to the old hotel they have decent food also .Banagy would know how the channel is for you there as he lives a block from the dock.

I've been to Port Austin numerous times, I guess I am just dreaming of a actual food/drink establishment ON the water. Not that i can't walk up town, Do it quite often but it would be cool to look out your window and see a bunch of boats docked outside and maybe have a destination.

Don't get me going on Riverside in Caseville. :(

Never had my boat in caseville, may try it this summer. Its to close to stop if traveling somewhere and i hear its a mess during the festival season. Also dont like cutting through near the charities and sand point until last year when the water came back up.I wonder if bayport or lexington have restraunts at the docks,i know detroit river ,st clair river and lake st clair has them .
