Tampa Bay to Central and Southern Bahamas in June

I am planning a trip to the Bahamas leaving in mid June. If anyone is interested in this adventure post or PM me. The Sea Ray club is leaving on June 14 (Naples, Keys, Bimini, Lucaya then home. I would probably leave the group in Bimini and head to Chubb, Spanish Wells, Eleuthra(Harbor Island) then to the Exumas-Staniel Cay, Norman Cay and maybe Great Exuma then head home maybe thru Nassau to West End then thru the locks(water pending) and home. It would be in the neighborhood of 3 weeks with nothing set in stone. I have been to the Bahamas twice but never to the Central and Southern. Its such a long trip to get there from Tampa Bay I wanted to extend the Sea Ray trip.

Sounds awesome, and I would join you if I had not done the Bahamas the last few years. I have been to Bimini, Grand Bahama and the Abacos, but not to Eleuthra and Exumas. That is certainly on my "to do" list. This year I am heading to the Keys for June.

You are right, the Bahamas is a long way from Tampa and to go all they way there and only spend a few days is just not worth it...I think the way you are planning is ideal and you are going at a great time of year. Get ready to drop some serious fuel money, but it will be well spent!

Does sound a great trip! You're right it is so far from Tampa Bay you really do have to go for an extended stay and be somewhat flexible in crossing dates. Would love to make it some time but finding that amount of time at the right tiime of year is quite difficult for us. Sincerely hope you have a great time
