I see there's a few of us on the Bay and I though I would start a thread to share the happenings on the Bay and cool places to go. So with that though in mind has anyone one been to Crabby Bills (Courtney Cambell Causeway) on a Sunday Afternoon.

OH MY GOD!!!!

Last week neighbors of mine invited me to meet them at Crabby Bills for drinks. They jumped on their Jet Skis and Since my boat was down do to a problem with the IAC sensor I drove over. I had to park at Bent Davis beach and walk back. Cars where parked all up and Down the Causeway. the place looked like Shepards on Memorial Day weekend. Supposedly this goes on every Sunday between 1- 8 PM

you had everything from Jetskis to 40' formulas anchored off the beach and the EYE Candy was unbaliveable. Since the boats back up and running this week I plan to stop by agian this weekend via water and save my self the long walk.

See yah at the party.

yep i have been to crabby bills great place and cheap food.. But when i was there i noticed that there was nowhere to anchor to get to the restuarant.. there are docks on the back BUT they are al for charter boats and no room for personal boats to dock up and go to the restuarant!

BTW dont ever eat at joes crab shack... Me and my wife went there and it cost up 100bucks for a meal that cost us 40 bucks at crabby bill!..

what do you do - swim in from anchor?

I don't make into the Bay much. That Crabby Bill's is a 20 minute car ride, and a 3 1/2 hour boat ride, meaning it would be a $500 meal before we ordered the first drink. :smt009

Same here just drove by car and now that I don't trailer a boat anymore, I'll have to hit Frenchy's on Clearwater Beach.

I keep the boat at Anclote Harbors in Tarpon Springs. Very good spot as well as great customer service. We were out yesterday for about 5 hours and had a great time.

as for docking at Crabby Bills; theres no real usable dock everyone just drops the front anchor, backs in to about 2-4 feet of water depnding on your draft and wade in. of course there a few idoits that just beach up and then forget about the tide.

It's a party atmosphere not a get dressed up and go to dinner kind of thing. I was going to go this weekend; but with bent Davis being closed for high bacteria and it being Fathers day I'm going to push off for another weekend.

besides I'm beat from being out at Egmont all day on Saturday. had a blast met up with some nice folks out there.

What side of egmont are the ruins?

on the gulf side..

http://www.beachhunter.net/egmont_key.htm

oposite tip of the island not the top with the light house.. the tip on the otherisde on the gulf side.

those are sunken ruins that you will see people snorkeling as soon as you get to the spot.. cant miss it.. the other land ruins are on the island by the lighthouse side of the island ON LAND.. walk the trails and you will find them and a million turtles walking around..

Really good thread. We're always looking for new places to take the boat and eat. We've been to Capt. Jacks in Tarpon, The Pub in Indian Shores (great dock master). Frenchy's in Clearwater. The dock master there (a female) is the nicest, friendliest person you'll ever met. Went to Island Way Grill on Wednesday. If anyone knows of any other places that have docks, please post them..

A friend of ours was docked at Frenchy's (we drove you don't wanna know why) and we went out to see the new to them boat and yes 100% correct the dock lady there was awsome.

I took the 380 to Catches in Port Richey one time. Good food. Current was a little tricky in the river coming under US 19, though. It flows pretty strong by their docks, and it took some effort to get in there gracefully.

duke - looks like Caladesi in your sig pic.

Ylwjacket,

You are correct. Caladesi is a great place for gatherings..Wife hates the no-see'ems though...we spent a lot of time there when we had the 320.

I agree Caladesi is a great place.. i went there for the 4th with my wife and her mom and my son.. its a nice island.. not as private as we like but its a nice place.. and when our local mm did their appreciation day 3 months ago it was also at caladesi!

Yes I agree regarding Frenchys. The dock master there is great and very friendly. Haven't been there since i got the 260DA. Won't be out there today, but if you see a 260DA with the name The Black Pearl say hello.
