Despite the beautiful day and the siren call of the boat and water...we head off with Bloody Mary's, Belvedere and (diet) Tonic with lime, marinated filets and chicken, and Maestro Dobel tequila shots to cheer the Falcons on to an NFC number one seed and home field throughout the playoffs. (The libations are necessary to ease the pain of the Georgia Bulldog bowl embarrassment...but at least the Big 10/11/9 was shown to be the utter fraud everyone in the SEC suspected).

Much like our brethren in Minnesota, Philadelphia and Green Bay...we face horrible weather (down to 50 degrees and sunny, brrrrr) terrible driving conditions (we have go offroad almost fifty feet for our tailgate spot...but fortunately Becky has an AWD SUV to manage the peril) and a harsh environment (our dome season seats six rows up from the five yard line are a LONG way up stairs from the nearest bar...which, by the way only takes cash). So...despite the perils, we venture forth, waving our banners against the onslaught of the mighty Carolina Panthers.

For away games we do this on the back of the boat...for home games, we brave the harshest threats of Mother Nature with a Cohiba and a sneer. Go Birds!

I wish your team well! Sounds like a lot of fun today! Out here we are waiting for a new GM, a new Head Coach and hopefully a real QB before I even pay attention...

Rough season for my Packers. We'll see what happens against Chi town today. I though we would be far ahead of the division instead of fighting for a playoff start. Oh well on any given game day a team can win.

The admiral is a huge Bears fan coming from that area. She'll have her way with me if they win. (either way I can't lose:grin:)

I am of course a True Vikings Fan. (Not a Favre fan). If my team cant be there to play and win it all, then I root for the Pack! Good Luck

Heading out to the marina in a few to watch the Who Dats play the Bucs on the new 32"LCD:smt038:smt038:smt038

What? I got the fillets, chicken and SUV. Not sure why they're related to the Securities and Exchange Commission, though. The rest is simply incomprehensible.

The Farve thing I was dealing with until I finally let it go this fall. How much more can the Vikes take? Doom, Coach, QB, and season gone.

Not that I can talk. GB was the hot pick this spring. Then they lose 3 games by 3 point each to set the season back. O well it's only a game. (Unless they make the SB)

PS. Good to hear from you.

The Seagulls, errrr, I mean Seahawks main claim to fame now is they''re the only team in NFL history to make the playoffs with a win-loss record of below .500.

Got back from a 1350 mile round-trip drive from the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville yesterday. This is a great venue for a game like this as the city works hard to put it on. It seems that larger cities like Dallas, Orlando, and Atlanta sort of treat it like another ordinary event. Glad that the Bulldogs won, but sorry that my Vols couldn't pull it out against North Carolina.

We can't take much more- trust me. At the beginning of the season my true colors came out when I picked the Vikes to finish 8-8. I was a couple of games off. Let's hope we find another QB and we can sign a majority of our 18 free agents. That is if there isn't a strike/ lockout.

You know the Vikes are not at the top of my A list but sometimes you need to just feel badly for a team with so much bad luck. I have a good friend who is a Vikes fan and I don't even call him after a game anymore.

I self imposed the no piling on rule out of respect for our friendship.
