Tacos

I will go first. Hate Taco Bell. Biggest ripoff place ever. Garbage.
But around here any other real taco place is crazy expensive. Like $7 for a taco.

Made at home the best. Taco bueno close second.

Beef, pork, left over brisket all good.

Once a week at least.

Soft corn tortillas, pork belly, and hot habanero salsa.

Also Taco Bell does not serve a ‘taco’. Those are abominations. :)

Don't bash it until you try this.

Spaghetti tacos...

Next time you make spaghetti take the leftovers next day mix the noodles and the sauce together put in frying pan.. fry on medium heat until a little dry add cheese then put into a soft flour tortilla.

This is a great boat meal.

All of it!

generally at home it’s either ground turkey, chorizo or shredded chicken with a mix of traditional corn hard shells and flower “boats”. I don’t get too crazy beyond a little rice, lettuce, crema and sauce

I do also love burrito, good green chicken flauta or tamale dinner!

Firecracker shrimp soft tacos with cabbage and cilantro lime crema sauce seem to be popular down here and are excellent. Some come with pineapple! :D:D:D

Monarca’s restaurant by boat is a local favorite Mexican place, and they’re accommodating of our boat mascot.

Iguana Mia and Mexico Lindo also get local honorable mention.

I like Taco Bell too on the run, but it’s like ordering from jets pizza. Ok for what it is if you’re not expecting authenticity

then there are all the seafood island variations of traditional Mexican food, but that’s another thread:D

My mom's tacos where the best. Ground beef and all the fixins. But she would fry up flour tortillas. Crispy, flakey, golden brown. I would just pound them by the dozen when I was a kid.

Raw Ahi tuna, avacado, wasabi mayo in those small street taco tortillas.

Taco Bell

“How to make 64 menu items with the same 9 ingredients.”

I tell you….. the drive thru lanes at Taco Bell’s everywhere are around the building…at all hours day and night .. something is going on

Local place by my house. Heavy Hispanic clientele. Favorite taco is “Raja c queso”. Sautéed poblano pepper strips in soft corn tortillas with onions and cilantro covered in cheese. Yum.

Always soft corn tortilla. And either linguae, carnitas or fish. My wife makes them extremely good. She will slow cook a pork roast in her home made Chilie Verde, shred it and make tacos. If we are on the go, it's one of the many great taco trucks around. When out, the wife likes a slow cooked chicken in a verde or the like. At home everything has Green Chilies either grown here at home from Hatch seeds or Hatch chilies from one store that can get them during the harvest. So tacos will get one in there as well. Same with burritos here at home.

Too much Icarly in your head perhaps?

I make tacos for the kids on Tuesday. I use any form of protein available along with fresh salsa or slaw. I prefer soft tortillas but sometimes I make tostadas instead. The one kid gets the expensive gluten free tortillas and the rest get what they get.

Easiest dinner of the week.

One of the niceties about living in the Treasure Valley is that we have a large Hispanic population. With that comes some of the greatest street taco vendors, but you have to get off of the beaten path to find them. As for me, I prefer burritos, as they're less messy. That, or we occasionally whip up a mess of deep-fried chile rellenos with beef. Yum!

Need some poblanos? Have a freezer full.
