On my port tach it is reading anywhere from 500 to 1k rpm higher than the starboard engine. the sync meter is right in the middle and I cannot hear the port engine running that much more than the starboard? I did at one time start my engines and my son had pushed up the port throttle and I started it with a little gas on the port side? any Ideas as to why this is happening? and how I can fix it. I should also note when we are just tooling around the lake the port tach will just start moving up 1k rpm and back down 1k rpm without touching the throttles.

Thanks Dave

Had the same issue over the last month. Talked to my Sea Ray guru who said over time you can get a bit of corrosion in the tach contacts. He had me move the adjuster on the back of the tach back and forth a few times. My tach reads steady and accurate now.

I have the same issue. I'll give it a try too.....course depends on how much tearing apart I have to do to get to the back of the tach. If too much I will just leave it.

Had the same problem. Very easy fix. Just unscrew and pull out your instrument panel. Then with a screwdriver. Turn the adjustment knob on the back of the Tach and reset it to the appropriate setting, i.e...4cl, 6cl, 8cl. Works like a charm!

Some problem here and turning the screw did nothing. I guess I am going to have to replace it.
