tach message

i'm a newbie to the site and a new sea ray owner... love my boat... my only problem is my starboard tach gauge is reading FAULT in the message centre and a small ( al ) is flashing as well in the top right corner of the message centre.. ive looked thru the manuals i got with the boat and cant find where these codes are or what they mean... volt meter is good, all gauges seem fine and engine runs perfect.. just thot i would throw out there before i call the local mechanic... thanks in advance...

If you have Smartcraft gauges (I suspect you do), then the AL is just notifying you that you have an alarm in. That is not a code. You should have an option to see the actual alarm - not in code - by pressing the buttons at the bottom of the tach. The fault will be in words such as Engine Fault and then an option to see more to get the more specific issue.
