Hello I have a 94 Sea Ray Express Cruiser 250--
The Needle for the tach fell off --Can this be repaired? is there a way to pop off the top cover to reinstall

Engine RPMs are a very important parameter to monitor. Get a new gauge.

The bezel holding the plastic lens on does come off - it's held on almost all the way around with some type of adhesive. I had one pop off and never really got it to work again - ended up replacing it with one I found on eBay.

I have had the same problem twice, both times I popped the cover off and glued the needle back on. The cover can be remove by sliding a thin blade under it and carefully going around it. Be sure the shaft is at zero when you put the needle back on.

Getting the glass off is the hard part...it's easy to break.

Here is a tip for when you go to put the needle back on...hook the gauge up and turn the key on..that will be 0 rpms and were the needle needs to point.

Thanks for your help guys,
I did glue it but does not work so I will need to replace
