Systems monitor - not working

The Systems Monitor on my boat is not working - at all. No display on screen. I have tried holding down the reset button - nothing. Is there a fuse or breaker directly related to this monitor, and if so, where? I was looking for an On / Off switch but couldn't find one, and assumed it is supposed to come on automatically when the engines are running as the System View monitor does. Any other ideas about why it wouldn't be working?

My boat is a 2000 410DA so it very well may be completely different than yours. I have a breaker panel on the foward bulkhead down in the engine room. That breaker panel has a breaker on it for the systems monitor. You may want to check there.

I had mine go out a few years ago. It ended up being ground wire that came lose on the thing. There is a coax cable that runs from the helm panel to a black box somewhere down below and all the sensors/wires tie into that black box. However, the ground wire for the display piggy-backs off of a ground connection on one of the Contera (sp?) switches on the helm and a bad crimp allowed the ground wire to fall out... it was hard to find as the ground wire looked like it was still in the crimp but it wasn't. Granted this is how my 2003 480 is set up but I bet your boat is similar.

Also, the coax connector on the wire that connected to the black box in the bilge was not crimped well (I think it is RG59 if my memory serves me right). I pulled on it a little and it came right out of the connector...

I would check all the connectors on the thing (both coax and power/ground) and see if that will bring it back to life. These Sea Ray guys need to really train their crew on how to crimp a wire...
