On my 2001 400 Db I am thinking that my switch panel to the right of the helm the legends should light up when I turn on the panel lights. Is this right? And if they don’t where would I find the bulb?

Matt, based on your question, I wonder if you have ever seen your switch panels illuminated before. Is this boat new to you? While our boats may be equipted a little differently, I don't think, in this area it has changed that much. When you turn on your running lights, your switch panels should also light up. You may have 3 or 4 bulbs behind the panel, as does my son's, but he has an "84" 340. I think you will probably have what I believe is called a light strip adhered to the rear of your panel. You will probably have 3 or 4. But, I am thinking if all of the strips are out, then you many have an issue with a fuse somewhere. This could possibly be an inline fuse. And, of course to get to the light strips you will have to pull the swith panel out, which is not a big deal. I hope this has been some help. Maybe someone with more knowledge about this will jump in. R

Thanks for the response. This is the beginning of the third year owning this boat for us. I have never seen any lights in the panel. But I was wondering if it should be that way which I would think would have been a big oversight on Sea Ray’s part.
I happened to be replacing the old Raymarine 220 with a new 218 last Tuesday.
I noticed that when I was head first into the locker under the radio that when I looked up toward the panel with all the switches that I could see light through the legends in the panel. I also noticed that there were strips of silver tape running along under the area where the legends are.
I will see if I can see the wiring to these strips and see if I can locate a fuse or breaker.
Thanks again,
Matt

Sounds like you know what your looking for Matt. You should see a small blk and a white elect. wire molded into the strip. Hopefully, this will be a simple issue, like a fuse. If you do need to replace the light strips you can find them on the fpmarine.com web site, under searay parts (electrical). Hope it works out. Let me know how it turns out. Rich

I did check the dimmer action and it works fine on the gagues but there is no sign of any light in the pannel of switches. it has been that way since I bought the boat not really a big deal until you want to see what your switch your hitting at night.
Thanks for the replies I need to take a look for any fuse or circuit breaker and see if that is the problem first then if I have no luck I will have to see about replacing the light strips.

I am at the boat today and I took the panel out. it has three tube lights each one under a strip of the panel above the row of switches. there is a module that the lights connect to it has a name on it Tech Lite there is 12 volts going to the module but the lights don't light up.
Doing a Google search for the company has come up with nothing.
Does anyone know if the light strips that FP marine sells will work for this setup?
I assume that the module steps up the voltage for the stip lights and it is probably bad.
