I just bought a boat, owner wasn't very knowledgeable, and I'm trying to figure out what this button does. Its the one on the right side that looks like a box with a squiggly line in it. Its right above ACC2. Oh, and what the heck is Comp Light? ok. that's

I believe the box with a squiggly line is the bilge pump…

not sure what the comp light is though

I dont think its the bilge pump, unless its the emergency bilge pump. The bilge button is on the port panel and it looks like a hull with a water stream coming out of the side.

Like @techmitch stated the box with the squiggly lines would be for your fresh water pump - unless your fresh water pump is powered off the main DC panel in the cabin. In that case it may be a spare.

The Comp button would control "Companion Way" lighting. Depending on the model it may be wired to another lighting circuit. If i am correct my Comp switch controls the light in the aft storage area.

Oh - and take very good care of these keypads. I would keep them covered, out of the sun when not in use and do not splash heavily with water. While these were initially designed to stand up to these harsh conditions seals and other things break down as they age and unfortunately these are no longer available.

The comp switch, I believe is your compass light.
you sir got it. It now makes sense. I was like, what the hell is comp? Uh, compass. The fresh water pump is weird, but the pump is also controlled by a breaker down below. I wonder it is like the radio button. It will turn the water pump on and off from above with breaker on. Ill have to try it.

Thank you. I will check that water pump switch, I mentioned it in another entry. I guess I will have to wait until it gets dark, lately, after 8pm, and see what the comp switch turns on. Also, I have seen that those panels are pretty much priceless atm. I do keep them covered up and will watch the water. I have read nightmares about them. So far, well, i wont say. dont want to jinx myself.

These pads were somewhat generic in there use. Here is an general overview from my 340SDA owners manual:

On some models the pump is controlled by the breaker below and the switch at the helm does nothing.
That same switch panel at the helm is used across a few different models and is functional on some but not others.
