How far out should a swim platform be when installing over a single stern drive 36" to 48" sound right. I figure as long as the drive is tucked under far enough that your feet wont hit the drive?. Oh yes don't sit when engine running.

Look at www.swimplatforms.com for your model boat. You might be able to get an idea from the pics. If not, call Scott Samuelson, the owner, and ask him for the dimensions. Tell him you are a CSR forum member and that you are considering a purchase but need the dimensions. And you can't go wrong with one of their platforms. They are first class and fit beautifully.

Agree. My current Cobalt has a brand new platform from swimplatforms.com that the previous owner had installed last season and it is top quality. It looks OEM on my boat.

To to answer your question...my swim platform is approximately 30" deep.
