I have a 94 27' Dancer. I was told my swimplatform was getting "soft". How does this happen and how do I fix it?

Your swim platform is most likely cored with a material like balsa wood. Once water penetrates the core, the core will begin to soften and finally rot away. Water penetrates the core because of somebody not sealing up a hole properly or from a crack or damage. It is certainly repairable, but if you are not accustomed to working with fiberglass you should have i professionally done. They will basically remove the core, then rebuild the platform. All this would happen from the bottom so you would never even know it was repaired by looking at it.
