Hello All
I have 2004 Sea Ray 280 Sundance and lost the rubber trim that goes around the swim deck now have bought new trim replacement but wondering how to install it . I tried but very stiff and tough to get wrapped around it .
Also Boat is in the water and trying to do it by getting in shallow water and installing?
Very stiff and Very difficult to fit up around it any help would be appreciated
Thanks
John

I would say a heat gun but probably a bad idea if you're standing in the water... Maybe let it sit out in the sun for a few hours?

Quality time pretty much nailed it. The replacement rubber insert will soften up as it sits in the heat. Direct sun also helps.

FYI, when you install it, cut it a few inches longer than you need. You may find it easier if you start at one end and install the screws, working toward the other end. When you get to that end do your final trimming to make sure the length is correct.

Here's what my new swim platform looks like and a shot of the rub rail.

BTW, this whole process of removing the old platform and installing the new one was done with the boat in the water. It was built right on the boat and that saved me about 2 boat bucks by not having to haul it out.

Here's what the finished product looks like.
