mine are done, Im putting some aftermarket LEDs under there.
Question is with wiring of course.
Should I A: remove old wire and try to run new wire through the existing grommet and caulk or B: cut the old wire under platform and splice with some water proof butt connectors and then a long length of some shrink tubing and sealant?.
Something tells me not to mess with the old through hull situation

Either way you are going to have to make a good waterproof connection. I do a lot of electrical work and i would prefer the thru the transom reseal. First , if you do get some small amount of leakage the bilge pump will simply do its job. (Of course fix the problem at a more convenient time.) Second, if you attempt the sealing process outside, under the platform, and anything happens to make for an imperfect seal you may find out the hard way. It would be a shame to have the perfect evening on tap, turn on the lights....turn on the lights...turn on...oh no...????
