ok so I have a 1981 srv207 that i am swapping motors in. The motor going in is a 1987 350, now i know about switching flywheel, coupler, and bell housing because the different years, they don't match up because of year differences but what else am i going to run into. I noticed the thermostat housing will have to be adapted also because i'm going from log style to center rise. Anything else you guys can think of that might be causing a headache as i progress.

On my last boat i changed from 81 305 228 hp to a 1994 5.7 mag 300 hp i had to use old bell housing, and used new coppler but had to grind down part of casting so bolts on coppler would clear. Got ext 3inch els from basic power to direct exaust down. They changed thermostat housing about every 3 years to a different confergration.

Vandal - not meaning to hijack here, but did you use the triangular style coupler and modify the bellhousing? Or did you use the conversion coupler that attaches with the flywheel bolts?
