Swap Clarion M502 with XDM1?

It is time to replace my Clarion XDM1 stereo on my 2001 Sundeck. I thought about the CMD8, but I never listen to CDs, so can I do a direct swap with a Clarion M502 and upgrade the remote to MW1? Will the old wiring harness plug into the M502? I know I will need to enlarge the 2 in hole to 3 inch in the dash for the MW1. Will I need new remote extension? Thanks.

I upgraded to the M303 last season with the MW1. The wiring harness was the same. Unfortunately the old remote extensions no longer work with the new systems, you will need the updated one.

I also upgraded to the M303 last fall and the MW1 and added the MF1. I really wanted to get the MW4(??) wired remote with the color screen, but it has been delayed any will maybe be out this summer.

The M502 Sucks. The single knob to do everything is a nightmare and makes no sense. I wish I never bought mine.
