survey "recommendation"- where do i draw the line?

Re: Surveyor "recommendations" where do I draw the line???

If it were me, I would pay for the oil changes, flares, and first aid kits and that's it. All the other stuff should be fixed or the cost of the fixes would be deducted from the price assuming the price is realistic. My bias would be to take the money and oversee the repairs. It sounds like the original owner deferred lots of maintenance. It's a buyer's market. Just be pleasant and see what you can do.

Yea… I had no comment on the sunpad. I have one and it has been sitting in the basement since I bought my dancer. One of the drawbacks to the sunpad is the lack of storage for such a thing. I wouldn’t leave it out in the elements all summer long, therefore it would have to be stowed inside the boat somewhere. I have yet to find a good place to stow it.
Again good luck with the purchase!

MM,
Im fairly new to the forum and wasnt sure of the proper etiquette. Thats why I stated that I had the post in another forum also. --Apologies if I did something wrong in the Forum.

No biggie, Chuck merged them. Thanks Chuck.

I agree. I have yet to use my sunpad in 2 seasons.
It just bothered me that it was there a week ago, then the OP shows up for the survey and it is gone. That kind of stuff just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I see a broker who's buddy needs one so he grabs it off of the boat before the deal is finalized. The OP then inquires and the broker has "no idea" where it went.

But, I am an openly admitted very cynical person!!
