Well at least for me. The admiral said to me last night,

"Honey, did you know there is a football game Sunday?"

"Yes, its the superbowl."

"Well, I really wanted to go out on the boat this weekend and the forecast says it will be nice."

"I see, did I tell you it was the superbowl game this weekend?"

"I know but Maimi isn't playing so do you really care? And anyway you can listen on the radio."

Of course I don't care, its only the superbowl. :smt013
!@#$!@#$:smt089 :smt021 :smt100

I guess it could be worse. So while you are all sitting on the couch or bellied up to a bar watching the game, you can know that I will be sitting out in the middle of the gulf floating around and yelling at my radio.

Golden boating opportunity. Channels and anchorages should be empty. I hear they're playing that game somewhere around here??

Superbowl? I myself could care less. Boating sounds more enjoyable.

Ever since the big salaries, the crimes, drug use etc. in the NFL, I lost interest, to many prima donnas'. They do not play like they are "hungry player's."

And lord knows! Do not subject me to any live interviews with many who are suppose to be college graduates...ya know, ya know...ya know...see what I am a sayin', etc.

Sounds like your admiral has her priorities inline :) You could have a floating superbowl party....

I will consider myself lucky if I don't have to shovel the driveway during half-time. My boat is freezing her aft off. I would much rather spend Sunday on my boat than go to the superbowl in person, let alone watch it on TV!

I like sports, but would rather watch them on TV than go to the game (unless you are talking college ball). In-person is overrated in my opinion. Can't see or hear anything and I hate crowds, not to mention the $10, 3% 'near beer' that they serve.

It maybe cold (-10 this morning) and the water is in solid form, BUT I have put heaters in the old girl, tested shore power and I am going to have a superbowl boat party!!!! :smt038:wow:

At least the game is before they go digital. I will have to replace the TV!

Cockpit HDTV - it doesn't get any better than that...

Boating and football. If the river was not frozen - that would be me.

Hell yeah....I would be out on the water too.
The superbowl is a bit out of control now with all the commercials and grand marketing. Jeez, there are times where the commercials are actually better than the game itself.
Don't get me wrong, I will probably still tune it.

The game isnt until 6:30 p.m. so maybe you will get lucky and be able to do both. We are going out for a half day on Sunday but im sure we will be back in time for the game.

The Superbowl is this Sunday?

I'd much rather go boating as well.

Now if it was the Stanley cup finals id toss her the keys to the boat and say "see you when you get back".

I would still go out and enjoy the day on the water....of course I have not seen my boat since November so................

Winds 15 kts, high of only 66 on Sunday...
Nah, it's a football day.

Weather report for South Florida:

Saturday Sunny high 63 low 42
Winds 5 knots out of the NW, waves 2 feet or less

Sunday Sunny high 71 low 48 winds switching to the NE, waves 2 feet.

Yesterday it was 84 degrees. A cold front slammed into south florida this morning and the temperature is plummeting. It is cloudy this afternoon with a temperature of 67 and falling fast.

This is sweater weather for sure. Number 1 has the shrimp odered from the market and the munches packed. Cooler is loaded and ready to go. I have gotten messages from fellow boaters and it looks like a superbowl raft up is in order. That late game time is great. 6:18 kick off allows for a full weekend of fun. Hope to push off around 5-6 tonight. Hit a restaurant and then find an island to hide behind. I may even make it back for the game!

Sweater weather....we have days in the summer that don't reach the 70 deg. mark. Gotta grow thicker skin :) A few weeks ago, it hit 65 deg. here in Detroit. I was outside in a T-shirt washing my GTO with a HUGE A*S smile on my face....just happy to be outside without looking like the abominable snowman man :)

I don't even know who's playing (and don't really care).... an opportunity to go out on the boat, especially one suggested by your wife? The name of my next boat may be "Kwitcherbitchin".
