So is the transom shower valve supposed to be in a on-off-on configuration? My transom shower has one knob on the top and you turn it all the way left for hot and all the way right for cold (or the opposite, i cant remember) and the center is off… seems like this cant be the way it is supposed to be because not only do you have to sit there and find the exact middle to shut it off (which is borderline impossible) so it slowly seeps, and you also can only have a HOT or COLD shower… something seems off here and Id like to maybe see how other people’s mixing valves are plumbed.

If I'm remembering correctly... :)

You should have a master switch for the pump that gives/kills power.

The button on the sprayer handle should control on/off of the water flow during use.

The mixer handle should NOT control on/off... just temperature range.

I would start by doing a full disassembly and cleaning.

I believe the ball goes up and down for on-off, then turns left/right to adjust temp.

You have this one?

I have the same problem with finding on vs. off/hot/cold so we never use it. POS IMO

Not that one... 1997 330DA. Shower Style with a pull out head.
Push back towards the transom for "on" and down towards the swim step for "off". Left and right is hot/cold. All of that assuming its the OEM shower and was not replaced by the owner. If yours works by being off in the center, then it may not be the original valve.

In case you need to replace the ball valve in the original one, its a Delta, and the valve ball repair kit is:

Awesome! I must have a different one. It doesnt move forward back or up or down. Just turn left and right. Really is a bad replacement option. Not sure what the previous owner was thinking. I dont think the replacement ball valve will work if i dont have the original unit. Any links to an original or at least oem fit replacement? I bought a transom shower kit (locking box style) but would have to cut the transom to modify for fit… so would much rather find some sort of original

I think its a Delta 600 series, which are not made any more. But its possible that this kind of valve would work with some fittings made up to align the inlet and outlet hoses.
Also here is the parts manual and wiring manual.
