Love to hear what you think..when I purchased it in ‘19 it would hit 4900/5000 WOT and top out 39 mph per RAYMARINE Gps. At that time it had 28 pitch merc duo props.
The outdrive was a replacement, my shop told me it’s a 2.43:1..I went ahead and got a set of 4 blades from Hill Marine. Ended up losing more rpm than expected in the top end..now she’s at 4450, same top end speed. Don’t like that as it’s straining the engine now.
Also come to find out the original three blades have a slight warp and need fixing.
Now the last two months I’ve been chasing a rough start, idle, and loss of power throughout..took it out recently and fuel mileage is down and top end only 35.
Changed plugs, wires, and now coils and Crank sensor.
Went to start it after CPS change last week and the starter broke, lol..weird. The solenoid housing just broke off. Same exact thing happened last year. This is the replacement starter from quicksilver. After taking the batteries out I read the manual and saw they are not matching batteries. Both are supposed to be 800 cca..one of them is 1000..seems like a stretch that could cause a starter to fail, but something is causing it.
My speed/performance issues are gearing. Trying to work around that 2.43:1..the engine running poorly looks like maybe bad gas..if it’s still running poor, I’ll do the injectors.
I recently had the cool fuel module rebuilt.
