I just bought a 2000 260 DA and it heels to the port side about a degree or two at the dock. Fuel tank is about 5/8 full, other than that, just the normal equipment on board. Has anyone else seen this before?

Thanks,

Scott

Scott, Im not trying to be a smart a$$ but........ "about a degree or two"? My eyes must be getting old but I can't imagine being able to see that.

Which side is the fresh water tank on? Is it full? The holding tank?

Thanks for the feedback. It is most noticeable at the swim platform - one side is a couple of inches higher than the other at the water. Not sure where the water tank is yet, but there is water in it and there is no holding tank, just the porta-pottie base.

Our 240 lists to one (starboard) side if the water tank is not filled all the way up (iirc, it's a 10 gallon tank). Not much, but I'd say from looking at the bottom paint line on the transom, the starboard side sits 1/2 to 1" lower if the freshwater tank is running low (our tank is on the extreme port side). I wouldn't worry.

A porta pottie on a 2000 260 DA?

It was standard. The Vacuflush was an Option.

Aerissa,
I have the same boat, however I have the vacuflush which is installed on the starboard side. My water tank is mounted center up on the plywood shelf. Batts are to port along with the hot water tank. When I'm under way mine lists to port slightly because my usually all sits in the lounger. It's nothing major, but my guess is that you set up has more features installed on the port side, empty and when you get in it'll level out. Add a few passengers and back to port you'll go. Don't sweat it too much.

Mine leans to port as well.....3 batteries, generator, and water heater are all on the port side, holding tank is starboard. I know its time to pump the tank when the boat sits level in the water.

After having bottom painted this spring, noticed slight lean to port. Have genset and everything else. Tried emptying water tank to see effect, raised up to almost even with tank almost empty. Lot's of factors to keep in mind. Fuel, water, batteries, what you have in storage, etc. I wouldn't worry too much.

makes me wonder if SR was trying to correct this? Mine is an 03, water tank, batteries, hot water heater are port, holding tank is center, and generator is starboard, mine will list port at times when docked.

obviously caused by uneven weight distribution.

My boat listed to port as well. Dual batteries and 11 gal fresh water on port side - nothing on Starboard side. This was a problem because when the kids would sleep in the mid-cabin, their heads would be downhill.

Corrected the issue by moving the batteries to starboard side.

NOW my boat lists to starboard. But at least the kids are not sleeping downhill anymore

Oh well. I wouldn't worry too much. It is what it is!

My Batteries were also moved by the previous owner. The only time My boat list is when the crew all sits on the Port side of the boat. Just hit the little switch and problem solved.

Not to scare the crap out of you...but if you have an unsealed breach into your coring somewhere, a handrail fitting anything like that it soaks up water and voila you list...although it seems like a design issue by all the responses, if it was me, I'd get a moisture meter, and check around fittings, and low points in the sides of the hull under penetrations...

It happened to me once, albiet on an older SeaRay, it was an unsealed stanchion, the structural foam took on the water and she listed..I had to scoop it all out, and replace the foam with two part expanding foam...
