Has anyone bought one of these ? They are suppose to be an exact fit.
Are they? Just looking for opinions. Thanks for any and all opinions.

I bought one for my 240 Sundeck 2 years ago. It is a nice cover, fits very well. It covers about 10" below the bow rail, including the swim platform. The drawstring around the bottom cinches it up nice and tight. I can put it on myself with some work, but it is a large heavy cover. I only use it for winter storage, so that is OK. I still use the factory cockpit for summer, but I have been thinking of ordering one of the lighter sharkskin covers for summer day to day use.

Hoosier,

I too am considering some sort of "exact fit, full cover" and would be interested hearing of experiences with regards to trailering with these types of covers. Especially from those that have a cover that goes over a bow rail. Thanks in advance!

we bought the Sharkskin cover for the bowrider about 3 years ago. Perfect fit and still no problems. Great Product.. Paid about $400 for the 21' Chaparral. Nice tie downs as well.

I got one for my '91 200 bowrider. Perfect fit. It had a notch for the tow hook, and covered the swim deck perfectly. It is said to be trailerable, by the looks of it I would think it is but I still don't trailer with the cover on. =)

Thanks for all the info. Does the cover use poles or what ? The website recommends using their Cover Up Boat Cover Support. Is this needed ?

I use the same poles that I use for the cockpit cover in the summer. Again, mine fits great. As a side note, on my boat there are tow options, one with a factory tower, and one without. I do not have a tower, just the bimini, and the cover is made to fit with the bimini removed. It is made with an extra layer of fabric at wear points line windshield corners.

I don't trailer with it on, but you are supposed to be able to. We keep the boat at the house, and removing all the straps every trip to the lake would drive me crazy. That is what I use the snap on cover for.

My very old sunbrella full cover made by Smitty's in Indianapolis is still awesome. I trailer with it on at highway speeds with no issues, it is reinforced in high wear areas. Get a custom bid if you haven't, especially if you hope keep the boat a while. You can find Smitty's on this site or google them. They are a marine upholstery and canvas shop. MM

If you want a cheapo cover, this one at Walmart works pretty well at a fraction of the cost of the cost ($90) of a fitted cover.

I bought two air vents with poles underneath which do a good job of keeping water from collecting in the cover if it rains. I've had mine for almost 2 years now and while the inside has mildew stains all over it the cover itself works fine. I have trailered it short distances but it catches too much wind to try a long trip at highway speeds with it on.

I was also looking into these type covers too for my 2008 185 sport. I am hesitant about spending $400 on a cover if it would only last a few years... maybe that wally world cover might be worth a look since its cheap and seems decently made.

Here's another take on the topic of its usage: When storing the boat over the summer (on land), should I remove my existing bow/cockpit cover and just use THIS cover, versus using the stock Sea Ray bow and cockpit cover IN ADDITION to this outer cover. My marina has alot of airborn dirt, pollen, cotton wood tree shmutz etc.... This gets under the stock canvas and messes up the interior. The goal is to cover more of the outer surface and let less dirt in... anybody have an opinion?
