Thought I would share some pics of our boating playground down under. Hope you guys in the States get a good summer this year. all the best. P.S Spot the Dolphins in the wake.

Very cool and what a beautiful landscape NZ has. I will visit there one of these days!

The Dolphins frequent the outer sounds and love to ride in the pressure wave created by boats. Truly an amazing place and well worth the visit.

No worries about snakes over here mate, we have nothing creeping around in the undergrowth that will do you any harm, apart from the occasional unscrupulous boat repair facility.

No Snakes...... just big eels....2m long and as big round as your calf muscle. Heaps of stingrays in the Sounds these days! The kids enjoy poking the sunbathers with oars and watching them flee.

Mike (Annie),
Great pics! Thanks for sharing. Helps one keep his sanity during the frequent whiteouts we're experiencing!

Steve (Barlow),
How the heck are you? When was it you said you were going to be in the states?

Thanks for the "glimpse" of summer boating! It sure helps to see this as I look outside to see snow gently falling. Theres no wind so the trees are draped with a fresh white coating - everything looks clean and fresh...

But I still like your weather better!!

Also, the dolphins are way cool!

Great pics Mike. Your obviously getting some good weather down there. I went out today on the Hauraki Gulf for a spot of fishing and all I got a couple was couple of greenies over the windscreen for my trouble. Looking forward to a few calm days like those in your pics.

Cheers

Terry

Awesome vid of the dolphins. Was down there myself for the last two weeks.
Spent it in the Abel Tasmen, Okiwi Bay, Nelson and Wikawa. Was there in our campervan with the family. Popped into Waikawa Marina to check out a pretty good 375 for sale (top money but we will see where we get  ) had fantastic weather for the whole time. Felt really envious of the boaties out getting there quota of scallops inside 20mins inc the 2 'safety peoples' quota! took longer to scallop them than catch them.

If we end up getting that boat I'll be keeping her down there for a season to thoroughly check out the sounds, it looks like an awesome play ground.

A couple pics of my excursions to the Sounds.
