Ok, I'm off to Block island in the morning. A week there and 10 days on Marthas Vineyard.

If anyone is out there during this time, pm me and we can hook up. (in a boating kind of way)

take many pics.

Those are two of my must go to destinations.

Have a GREAT trip.

Well I pulled into the Block at about 2pm on Saturday, I really did not expect to see 14 green and 3 orange town mooring balls empty. Over the last few years you would never find one on a Saturday, let alone a holiday week approach.Normally you would need to arrive early on a Thursday to maybe get one. The marinas were also empty other than the large boat slips.

The staffers are hoping for a busier holiday.

Anyway its good to be here and we will have to do our own part in stimulating the local economy.

Dave,

I'm going to be on Martha's Vineyard the 15th-17th... You going to be there?

Looks like our vacation times dont click. I'm back at Block on August 11th for a week.

Where are you staying in Marthas?

We are staying in Oak Bluffs... heading over to Nantucket for a week after that.

You just don't want me to take pictures and make up a story about you...

There is a restuarant in Nantucket at the wharf where the art shacks are called Slip # something great food and mojitos, and by the gazebo near the ferry right next to where you pick up the launch, great 5 star dining but casual. They have a Lobster bake entree that is to die for, take the Admiral there.

according to my hightech weather system on my boat, my iPhone, there is a nice little cell heading your way. Stay safe.

I'm drifting in the sound with a school of jumping bunker. My dog is on the swim platform having a hissy fit as they jump within a foot of her mouth. There were also dolphines reported last night in the navasink(sp) river.

thanks Mike, so far so good, sun has been glaring all day. Dark to the east, will put up canvas soon.

Happy fishing!

As of 1 pm today 13 mooring were still empty, looks like about now 5:30 pm they are taken, however Champlins are about 30%, no rafting up, a first in many years.

Wish I was there!
The best place to boat in the northeast. Block Island..
Enjoy the mudslides.
Mark.

Dave,

I am heading out to Block with my son (12 yrs old) and a number of other boats on Wednesday morning. We are going to anchor over by dinghy beach. Should be 4 to 6 boats on the raft. Staying until Sunday.

Will keep and eye out for the Saramee.

Our boat name is Temptation (38 dancer). Feel free to stop by.
