Took a run to Put-In-Bay this weekend with the new-to-me 268 DA. Along with another couple in their Rinker, went over saturday, stayed in the mooring field, got ripped in the beer barrel saloon, and Mr. Ed's bar. Lake was VERY co-operative for a change...nothing bigger than a 2 footer over or back.

Here's a pic of mine with my wife and my buddy's wife on board.

No breakdowns, no problems whatsoever, other than walking to catch the last water taxi of the night back to the boats!

Cheers!

Randy.

good shot of the boat. I've been going up to PIB since about 1986...love it.

Beautiful boat! In fact, my girlfriend and I saw you over there this weekend and loved the color scheme. I've got a sundancer 260 and I'd like to change the striping color.

Incredible weeked, wasn't it? Were you in the Beer Barrel on Saturday when The Menus were playing? Love 'em or hate 'em, they're entertaining!

We were having a good time. Unfortunately, BlackBerry's don't make great phones

Here's the lead singer wearing: a womans one-peice bathing suit, a mink coat and a shark cap:

And then an evening gown:

They wore me out before 1:00 a.m., but it was a lot of fun.

Your boat looks great, btw.

Thanks for the kind words on the boat! We were in the BB Saloon Saturday night for the Menus, we were there in the afternoon for Lewis and Faust too...hilarious!!

Definitely going back again before the summer's done. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

The Menus!! LOL! I guess I fit in the love em category. Or at least entertained.

The lead singer has a fantastic voice...a little on the eccentric side though.

Anybody there for xmas in July and see the Owens up on shore?

Yeah - I saw the Owens at about 10-11 pm., low and listing with a line tied to the handrail of the steps to the sidewalk.

When I walked by again later, she was even lower. She appeared to be on the bottom. Sad. Do you know what happened?

Hey Buck! We haven't see you around here in a while - welcome back.

Sometime on the evening of Saturday the 26th, an Owens cabin cruiser, very much like the one RonDDS just posted in the "What's your version of Cruise Speed" thread (but w/o the bridge) was beached alongside the Boardwalk in PIB. Someone tied a bowline to the railing, but I never saw anyone near the boat. It had taken on a lot of water.

The Owens story as I heard it from the A dock dockmaster.

For those of us there during Christmas in July, the docks were a madhouse and by Friday afternoon, there was really no dock space to be had. I came in Friday at about 12:30 and found there to be no space in the public docks, Miller, Dugan's, the former Fox's, etc... I headed over to the State Park dock, dumped my stuff, headed back to PC, and took the jet back over, and stayed at a friend's house.

The guy with the Owens apparently ran into the same problem on Saturday, except he decided to anchor off of Perry's monument on the North side there. Apparently, he ran into some rocks and ripped part of his stern off. To avoid sinking out there in front of the monument, he beached where you saw him.

The boat sat there quite a while, because the two was going to cost more than the boat was worth. The dockmaster told me that he was utlimately able to find someone who helped him patch it up and pump it out. They got it over to the ramp and took it out on a trailer.

That's the story according to the guy over on A dock.
