Stuffing box help

Use this packing, you will not be disappointed.

The nut does not turn. The piece that has two "ears" on it is what you turn to tighten, just like you did. Line up the holes and put two cotter pins in. Simple setup. Tighten until it stops dripping, and then tighten to the next hole. Piece of cake.



There are holes in both the nuts for the cotter pins, when they are aligned two pins got through opposit each other. Mabey it dosent show up in the photo.....Cheers. Mike.
 
I called PSS and they sent me without charge some new set screws.

I learned that when you reset the seal, you must use new set screws. I told PSS my shaft diameter and they figured out which kit I had.

I have a buddy with a 36-ft Maxum with those same shaft seals. A few of the allen head set screws backed out and he almost lost the boat last weekend. The bilge pumps could not keep up with the amount of water coming in. Dripless shaft seals are great, but when they go bad, better be prepared.....
