Good day folks I have what appears to me to be hard calcified drip stain running down the side of my boat which I can't remove. I have tried: nonskid cleaner, magic eraser, compounding, acetone...lol whatever I had out at the boat. I need to finish the wax job this weekend so i can splash and I dont want to seal that in. Any recommendations you can provide are appreciated like on/off hull cleaner, lime away etc.? Thanks all!

On/off will probably take that off. It is an acid though so be careful. Lime away might too, but I think it has an abrasive in it so it might scratch the gell coat.

I have had good luck using "Soft Scrub with OXI". I put it on with a damp sponge and leave it for a while. Stains usually disappear. It does remove the wax..

ON/OFF is nasty stuff - it's muriatic acid (HCl). If the stain is what you say it is, though, it will definitely work - in seconds. A little on a clean, white rag and wipe it on... and off :) It won't harm your gel. Other things like white vinegar or CLR, and the like, may work as well.

"Cleaning" vinegar should work on this type of material as well.

It's 20% stronger than white vinegar.

We use it at work to clean lime deposits/staining off of our vehicles and windows.

The Works toilet cleaner. $1.00

Wear a latex glove and wipe the area with a rag soaked, but not dripping with The Works.

Keep the area wet and it’ll be gone in a minute. Rinse when you’re done.
