I have a snap screw that pulled out of my cockpit cabinet (white fiberglass). Bigger screw won't fit the snap, so I need to repair the hole.

Just fill with 5200 and dry, then redrill and attach existing screw?

I had one stripped on my radar arch and I mixed up a small amount of fiberglass resin took a hypo needle let it get a little thick then shoot it in the hole and kinda smooth it out with a knife or something easy does it.....Then I re-drilled it with a bit worked fine........

If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of hypo needle did you use and where did you get it?

I use a wooden skewer (barbeque type), they usually fit in the existing hole tightly. Dip it in some epoxy, insert and break it off. Then put a dab of epoxy on the broken end.

If the screw stud was original then just try an oversized screw stud. It is slightly wider an usually will grip otherwise you are looking at filling with epoxy and redrilling.

Depending on hole size, glue in a golf tee with 5200. When dry cut tee flush with surface and away you go.

Temporary fix hold a toothpick or piece of zip tie in the hole while you screw it in. Of course for me that stays forever because I never go back and fill and drill.
I have used the little plastic drywall anchors before for a temp fix,

Congrats on the new to you boat, we considered going the sport fish route, just never found a price/year/model/engine/layout we liked enough to warrant taking a close look.

Thanks. This one was pretty hard to pass up, and had major work done to her that set it apart from all others like her.

Yeah...those are usually tempermanent fixes for me too. I wanted to stay away from wood, but never thought about a zip tie. Thanks.

Guys, I got an older boat and one by one snaps pull out. I smear this on the snap and put back in and I have yet to have one pull out again.
Y’all way overthinking and over working it. Stuff works good.
