striping on '98

The stiping(both bootstripe and cabin trunk/arch) on my'98 370da is starting to show it's age. Too many years in the tropics I guess. Has anyone replaced theirs? How much of a job is it and what is the best source? Mine is gold and black.

using original tape can be expensive $2-$3 per foot for tape only!
+ labor
or using aftermarket tapes and labor and you should be done in $500 - $700
removal of old stripping is most expensive part of this job
