Just finished a very nice weekend at Bald Head Island North Carolina. While on my last night I notices a little shadow crawling on the ceiling. It was what is called in the South as a "water bug" or as I like to call it... a big a$$ roach. Not sure if it was a stowaway or if I am feeding another family. What ever the case is I want to use something to get rid of them. I am fine with using chemicals but I don't want to fog a 240 DA. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think we played corn hole together. Had a great time also. As far as the bugs go to the grocery store, get the little roach hotels, put them in the cabin, floor compartments and cockpit. They will be gone.

Ankrum,

Nice meeting you this weekend. My wife (Mai Tai woman), also saw one of those this past week. Agree with Bahama, Roach hotels....BTW, where is the next trip:grin:

My buddy and I were hanging out behind his boat Sat night and a RAT came out of his cockpit, ran around the swim platform, then ran back into the cockpit and disappeared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He said he saw one in the transom locker (jumped up and hit him between the eyes) a couple of weeks ago. He's had 3 hoses blow out in the last 2 months. I wonder if they are related? He better get that thing cleaned up fast! Can you say chewed wires?

Then he went and changed his shorts! My wife wouldn't get back on the boat if she knew there were stowaways.

Very Nice meeting you and you Family as well, but those Mai Tai's were evil...I should have listened to you. Getting some Roach Hotels tomorrow and they will be installed. I have never seen bugs int he cabin before so I imagine it was a stowaway and not an investation, but I don't want to take a chance.

If my wife knew we had a rat as a live aboard I would ahve to get another boat... Hmmmm?

Sounds like a new way to get another boat. Hadn't thought of that one. HMMMM!!!
