I recently pulled my boat from the Salem Harbor (was on a mooring) and am now in a slip all the way up river. Just wondering if anyone has experience in dealing with strong Nor'easters and hurricanes that far up river and what the concerns are. Obviously minimal fetch will build but are there still chances of tidal surges? I was also curious about the wind activity. I am try to asses what I need to do to prepare my boat for the next few days of high winds. But if the area is less susceptible to the effects of NE Winds, I would rest easier. Still plan to deploy more fenders and shore up my lines...but still want to see what others have experienced up that river.
