Still no boat, and the process started back in October

Loan paid off in full in my opinion has nothing to do with you buying the boat but what do I know.

Perhaps not, but they (the sellers bank) will NOT satisfy the lien on the CG document or title without that.

EDIT:
added the NOT (thanks @spikedaddy99 )

I would be checking the account number where the money was wired to make sure it is the correct bank. I have heard of these wiring numbers being stolen and changed if they are sent by email. I just finished a purchase of a Formula and the selling broker asked me to call and verify his instructions before I made the wire.

Receiving bank never received the check, check was lost, whatever......check was cancelled and money was sent via wire today at noon. Receiving bank initially declined the wire option last week.

Now, let's see if the email confirmation of the wire being sent is sufficient for them to let the boat leave early tomorrow AM rather than waiting the "typically clears in 24hrs" which means the boat stays put for another day.

I still come back to if you personalize the transaction, offer a solution and often do other peoples job the issues get resolved.

Owner is just as frustrated. He's a good guy and we spoke yesterday both agreeing that we are putting way too much time and effort into this and if the sale was done privately between us two the deal would have been done in about 3 days. Sea trial, negotiate new price then finalize payments. This specific broker is god awful.

I think you're going to look back on this in a year or two and know that this was the only way this deal was going to end for you! :):)

With all the PITA's you've endured throughout this process did you really think the final transaction would be smooth? ha.

Only kidding of course...glad to hear you're making progress. Saw snowflakes in MI yesterday so....still not missing any nice boating days!

My bank sent the pay off amount directly to the owners bank. Not how I thought it would go down either. I thought all funds would be sent to the broker and they would pay off the loan and cut a check to the owner for any remaining monies.

The irony is the owner received a late payment notice today on his loan. I signed on the dotted line back on 4/8 with nothing to show for it. No boat until all funds are cleared and not just received or deposited.

What I want to know is how the bank who holds the loan "hasn't received anything yet" when the tracking info clearly shows it arrived on 4/21 at 744am? It may take 1-2 days to clear but claiming they haven't even received the check yet?? WTF
I would request the refund of the funds from your bank ASAP wire transfer or not get your money back now. I worked at several banks they can get your money back let the other owner fix it that is his problem now. DO NOT get angry unless you want to lose your money. just politely ask for your money back.

if wire went today at noon it will show up early at the receiving bank in morning.

Omg - I would have lost my mind by now. I almost did just reading this. I just closed on my boat but this story caused me sleepless nights. I am happy, lucky, blessed or whatever you call it that my deal went much smoother. http://clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/joined-the-340-sundancer-club.108854/

Don't get me started on dealing with brokers... Cost me $3500.00 to get my boat towed from Atlanta to Charleston, WV after the broker sat on my boat for 5 weeks with all kinds of BS answers on whyhe could not get my boat moved. I feel your pain sir !!

So what going on? check show up? Inquiring minds want to know.

Trying not to jinx anything at this point. Scheduled to leave Long Island tomorrow AM and show up my slip tomorrow evening. About a 200 mile trip.

Last rant that does piss me off. Asked to broker to do a few things noted from the survey.....connect the hot water heater (since that was never done before the sea trail), replace bulbs in nav lights so they work, top off gear oil and while you are down there the steering pressure was very low so please make sure its operational and good to go.

Itemized bill today and it was $175 for each thing they looked at....$1000 for that shit. $1000!!!! Bet that was a solid 45min of work. Oh, and an extra $25 surcharge because the boat is 50'.

I must be getting grumpy in my old age but that bill seriously pissed me off.

That amount is total B.S !!!

He’s well on his way despite a late start. Shooting for Cape May around 5pm, fuel up and then should be at my marina by 8pm or so.

1950 rpm is burning 25gal/hr!!! Those props are getting pulled first thing and will have at least 1.5” of pitch taken out.

Beautiful day here in Virginia, hope you're having beautiful skies, calm seas in a ton of fun and memories with your family. She will be all yours for Mother's Day next weekend.
