First cruise of the season I noticed the steering feels "sticky" and might be "slipping" i.e it takes more turns to do the job. Quick inspection of the engine room didn't turn up anything obvious. System works but sluggish/harder to turn.

Before I get a tech on the boat has anyone experienced this? Any knowledge of the steering systems Sea Ray used in this size of boat would be helpful. Ideas or areas to check?

Thanks

Most likely have the Sea Star hyd steering and sounds like it has some air in it. Check the steering cylinder for leaks on both ends. Easy to bleed and cylinder is easily rebuildable.
