Has anybody used stern saver or a like product to mount a transducer instead of drilling holes? Thoughts on quality? Not sure what scares me more, drilling holes in my transom or epoxy coming loose and transducer meeting my props

Thumbs up to stern saver based on the reviews/writeups over on THT. Bluewaterpirate on THT had a TM260 hanging of a stern saver setup without issue - which is as big as a transom mount 'ducer you can get. He also had a couple of other transducer's hanging of individual stern saver setups as well - chirp and structure scan 'ducers from memory

I used one this spring to mount a Fishhawk transducer that must be transom mounted. It works great. Much better than drilling holes in the transom and I can shift and move it if I need to.

Good to hear positive reviews, wonder how hard it is to actually move if bond is that strong?

For removal (thinking out aloud here) I would grind away down to the glue, sand glue, then wet and dry, then buff/polish.

Yeah that's a good idea, I really can't think of many other options. Realistically I don't see a reason to ever move it as I'll already have a hole drilled under swim platform for the transducer cable so not like I'll want to move it to other side of outdrive

Sorry I did not mean to imply you can move the stern saver pad itself. You can't. You can move the position of the transducer ON the pad by moving and redrilling holes.
