stern light problem

Does anyone have any problems with a perko stern light? I've spent HOURS trying to figure out why the bulb won't stay tight enough to stay lit while underway. I've replaced the light, I've tried different bulbs. I don't think it's the light receptacle because if I hold the bulb with my hand it stays lit. Any ideas? It's the stupid little things that end up driving me insane.

just stretch out spring inside socket - if any or bent up metal connector and clean out corrosion from bulb and connectors

I had same problem. I just had to tighten the screw heads under the 2 spring clips that hold the bulb. The metal bulb brackets were loose. Also, make sure you use a lock washer for the two nuts that hold the ring connectors to the terminals. If not they will vibrate loose.
