Jammin' AM Baby!!!!

Question #1.....what is your budget?
Question #2.....what is the Admiral's budget?

bel mar is right....your budget and the Admiral's will be completley different. I only spent somewhere around 1k but I installed everything myself. Not fun work I must say but it is loud and clear. That was 3 years ago, now I'm ready for something else!

I dont have pictures but I have an Alpine Digital head unit plays ipod, sat, usb and radio. Four JL 6.5" in arch and side panels and two JL 10" subs built into rear bench. One Alpine 5 channel amp pushing 100w per channel to 6.5" and one Memphis mono amp running 2 subs at over 600w. Also have Alpine MC1 wireless remote system.

All in all a very clear sounding, loud system.

Only thing left to do is one more sub.... just for kicks!!!

Just finished a upgrade to my tower. I bought a Sea Ray 200sd last week & it had a factory tower but no speakers. So we installed a pair of Infinity 6000m speakers with a kicker 400watt / 4 channel amp and it sounds awesome. My stock Clarion head unit and speakers in the cockpit & bow work well and didn't need any attention. I believe my system is complete at least for now :)

Ok.......2 JL Audio 4ch amps driving 3 pair of JL M770 components and one pair JL M770 coaxial speakers, a JL monoblock amp driving 10" JL sub, helm aux port and bass gain control knob, Clarion CMD5 source unit and a RF wireless fob remote. Purchased all components online, installed myself and saved a crap load....probably a couple $K. The bass is decent but another sub wouldn't hurt. Otherwise very clear and louder than needed.

I replaced the Clarion with an Alpine unit to allow me to use the iPod feature on my iPhone. I also added 4 Polk speakers to the cockpit and 2 JL speakers to the cabin along with a powered sub. I cut the new faceplate and trim bezel from stainless steel and maple. I also cut and inlaid the Sea Ray logo into the faceplate with black absolute granite. My company has a waterjet cnc. I offer fabrication services to CSR members at cost. Search "waterjet" in advanced search if interested.

Searay 280 2006
Mine is being installed tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well.
I already had an older rockford fostgate 501s Amp. So 500w @ 4ohms to drive a sub.
The installer is going with an Alpine infinite baffle. It will be mounted under the sink facing the captains seat, if it works. Extra dynamat etc.
The 4 junko speakers uptop are being replaced with JL M650. (6.5'') I got the box and it said has a narrower mounting flange than some 6.5s, so ugh, we shall see.
To power that I got a JL HD600/4. 150watts to each channel.
Hopefully I have pics tomorrow!

I belive those speakers will fit perfect in your exisitng holes. Let us know because I want to upgrade as well.

Pictures of my boat audio upgrade.

Install went well. The M650-ccx, 6.5 JL speakers, are a tight fit, in that the mounting flange is *just* large enough. Try at your own risk. Probably could have gone 7'' easier.

Speakers are nice and crisp with good midbass. Sub hits real at normal listening level. I have the line out set to plus 6 usually. Then if I turn the bass for the entire system to just 1 or 2, it is much more pronounced and handles well. (Haven't had the system at more than moderate levels yet).
Amps are mounted behind glass panels under the steps/Behind the tight bunk area. I have the Front set for the cabin speakers. I never really use them. So the system is faded to the rear.
The cabinet under the sink is a great setup for the sub install. There are no rattles at all. I was concerned about the top plates on the sink and ice chest.
I was able to purchase everything (other than the rockford sub amp that was old) and have it installed for <2K dollars. It was worth every cent.
Next boat I will go much bigger.

2 Sets of JL Audio M650-CCX
1 JL HD600/4
1 Alpine SWR-M100 10'' Sub
1 Rockford Fosgate Punch 501s (IIRC)

Haven't posted in quite some time.... Pics in the link in my signature!!!!

Clarion CMD5 Head unit, sirius tuner , Ipod Cable , Memphis 5 Channel amp, memphis marine audio 8" 2way, 2pr- 6.5" 2way and 10" sub in custom vented box

My upgrade included 4 JL 7.7 speakers in the cockpit; 900/5 JL amp; 1 10 inch JL sub with base control connected to stock clarion head unit. Fantastic sound but I still want another sub and some swim platform speakers so it doesn't need to be turned up so loud when out floating.
