I know this has probably been talked to death but I'm installing a second battery with the stereo and amps hooked to it. I'm still using the ignition hooked to the first battery for the non memory wire (guess it to be the remote turn on wire)and the memory wire to the second battery. not really wanting to cut and spice wires from the factory harnesses plus want the stereo on the key as i forget to turn things off when i get home. I'm not too concerned about the power drain from the cranking battery but is this okay to do. i could put the ignition completely on the house battery but not fan of moving a lot of wires around. just want to keep it simple. any help or suggestions are welcomed. thanks

So you have everything for the radio connected to battery two except for the 12 volt relay circuit which is plugged into battery 1? How are the batteries tied together?

namniar79,

There is a time to connect the audio directly to the battery and a time to not, depending on the type of dual battery setup and switch you use.

Regarding the head-units red turn-on remaining on the key switch. Thats fine if you like.
