Step-son solved a big case

Step-son is a detective in a western PA town. Back in June an 18 month old girl was killed by her fathers girlfriend. Apparently this case has reached global news already. They made the arrest Thursday morning but he had it solved back in July. There is alot to the story and sounds very likely it may end up being on Dateline or one of the other shows. She was fed acetone. A few months earlier she was taken to the ER after swallowing button batteries, water beads and a screw. Step-son found searches on her phone that happened prior to the events. This case has weighed on him for awhile. He told me back in July that she did it but his hands were tied since the DA turned it over to the AG's office.
Anyway, he was here last night and said it had reached news stations in other countries already.

The punishment should be so very extreme as to set an example for others to be terrified to even consider it.

To even come close to being enough punishment there should be a minimum, one month in stocks in the public square, then "Drawn and Quartered" in the same square, in order to enlighten other creatures such as her.

I guess Nancy Grace is going to be talking about it on her youtube tonight but not sure how to find it or anything.
My uncle married this babies great grandmother about 15 or so years ago. So her grandson is the babies father. I have not talked to them about it at all during this time but I know my mother had said she was pretty upset obviously. Step-son said he is 1000% certain the father had no idea that this was a homicide until he told him Thursday. Social media is crucifying this father wanting to know why he wasn't charged...ugh

Sounds like the scene in 6th sense, when the mom was keeping the girl sick, and the girl videotaped it for her dad to see after she was dead.

Pretty wild story. He has another case he has been working on where a baby was killed and the local TV news channels keep calling him for an interview but he keeps declining

He had another one a few years ago where 2 drug thugs went into a house and shot and killed a woman and her boyfriend and one of the womans daughters. She was about 10. There was another daughter that was at the top of the steps. They left her alone for some reason but she knew who the guys were. She was about 9 IIRC. But those guys are in prison now.
