Steering is firm..not smooth..

Hope someone can help. My hydraulic steering seems pretty firm and my memory (last fall) says it should be easier with little effort. I checked fluid, inspected entire system and all looks good. It's a sable engine. Any advice where to look? Or , perhaps, an adjustment to "loosen" the wheel up a bit?

If it has a Sea Star system, they are very helpful. I had a coupler break in the motor on an 8 year boat and they sent me one for free. Could be your issue if you have that system.
