Hi guys, I have a 2002 BR200 with a 5.0 MPI and alpha I stern drive. I was wondering if anyone else has had or heard of a problem like I'm having.

Take my boat to the lake on Friday unload it off the trailer starts up fine pull it over to the dock run in change hook up the tube, cranks right up pull my son for about an hour on the tube, go back to dock cut boat off, go inside eat, change come back out untie from dock and go to crank it and it just spins, fires up every once and a while with such a low idle once put in gear it dies, sometimes it cranks fine and is idling at 800 rpm and within seconds dies down to 400 then 0. Open motor cover shake the fuel line and it will crank and idle a little longer but eventually dies. After 15 to 20 minutes of turning key over letting fuel pump build up and trying to crank it will fire up and off we go. Saturday, wake up eat, go to boat tie the tube up fire it up and off we go, head to local sandbar stay out there 2.5 hrs, push us out to deeper waters away from boats and boom, wont start. 15 to 20 minutes of trying and it cranks up and off we go. saturday night after being inside for a few hrs go out to boat untie and boom wont start, 15 to 20 minutes of trying and off we go. This is the 4th year I've owned the boat and this is the 4th year its done this. The first year I owned boat I spent over $5,000 on fixing this problem, to the point I was told it was a vapor lock and they replaced primary fuel pump and added a second booster pump to over take the vapor lock?? It does have the cool fuel system, wires, plugs, air filter, coil and distributor cap and button all replaced also. File to large.... email and I'll share video with you.

I would really consider adding the thru hull intake to make dual pickups. It’s cheap and just works.
 
Asking about Cool Fuel version 2 or 3. As your boat is an ‘02, it should be CF 2 version - that’s if someone didn’t upgrade it before you got the boat.
pretty sure the CF is factory, the people I bought boat from was original owners and moved south from Chicago. Told me they had never had any issues with the boat except tilt trim gauge not working.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Not really wanting to cut thru the hull tho. I'd prefer to keep the factory look, and just figure out what is causing the WOT problem and the starting problem.
 
Can you list out the $5k worth of work? Would be handy to know what the mechanic has tried to date. You are likely short fuel pressure or water flow, a list of new parts will narrow the list of potential fixes a bit.
