I started forging some wrench knives. The one posted is a sanded finish a customer wanted. I will offer them in any size and with polished, acid etched, bead blasted and stone washed or sanded.

Just don't grab the wrong end when doing work in the ER.
 
Cool, how does the heat affect the material?

I heat them until they loose their magnetism and oil quench them. After that they go into the oven an bake at 500 degrees. Then they are water quenched blade cutting edge in first. It gives them about a 50-55 rockwell hardness.
Don't bake then with your cookies. The cookies get toasty to fast.

The oil quench gives them durability and the water quench gives and good surface to hold an edge.


Bucit, that's true but you will be the only person on your dock with a 9/16 wrench you can shave with.
