Anybody have any experience with this stuff? http://www.acehardwaresuperstore.com/star-brite-marine-polish-with-teflon-p-69805.html?ref=42
I have to confess I only bought it because I can get it cheap through my store. I did one side of my boat with it yesterday, and felt like I was cheating, because there was so little work involved. It made me wonder if it's actually doing anything.. it did leave the surface feeling a bit slipperier than it was before I applied it, so I suppose that's a good thing..

Do a search for Starbrite and/or PTEF and you will see that it is very popular with folks here. There are several polishing/detailing threads with great info.

Obsessive Polishing Disorder? Now that's funny...

I just picked up a quart on Saturday. I am not happy with the shine I currently have so I am thinking about starting over with compound then Starbrite with PTEF. That is if my back stops hurting after dealing with the weeds yesterday for 4 hours! :smt021

Yes, I am using it this spring. I'm 1/8 of the way done with the boat and so far I'm happy with the results.

I did two coats over my entire boat so far, this season and last. I am VERY pleased with how it looks.

wow six coats !!! and I thought I was OCD at 4 coats.. BTW I always start with one coat of cleaner wax then go with the PTFE.. I put on by hand and take off by hand and then use the buffer..

I did cleaner/wax, Polish w/PTFE, then Carnuba wax. 1 coat each. really slippery...
First year trying the PTFE. Went on really easy.

I think Scott even did the back sides of the guages.

I see no problem with doing the backsides of the guages.
You never know when you are going to have to crawl under the helm for some rewiring and it SHOULD look as good as the rest of the boat!!

Have been using Starbright Teflon for 10+years or so.

After cleaning and compounding the hull of the last '89 340 and the latested 92 350EB, nothing shines as well for the season!

I hope you people are right about the Starbrite. Here are my first impressions after being talked into it by Scott. :) I have been using "Meguires Flagship Marine" wax for the last 2 years and I was VERY HAPPY with it. It goes on and wipes off much easier than the Starbrite. I wax/polish by hand. Last year 2 coats of the Mequires lasted all season for us. After sitting all year a quick water wash down and water still beaded and the boat still looked great this year when we started the Spring cleaning. BUT...In my never ending pursuit to spend more stinking money on the boat....I bought the Starbrite even though I was completely happy with the Meguires. I will let you know how this holds up as the season's progress.

Hope it works out for you Bridog! Another tip I've found. If you either polish the non-skid (which is what I do) or accidentally get it in the non-skid, it can be a real pain in the a$$ to remove. Finally I figured out the trick. After it's dry, you can either use a hose to wet the non-skid or a spray bottle of water, and then use a deck brush to remove the polish. I spent hours (literally) on the deck trying to remove it without moisture, and happend upon this by accident.

I use the medium bristle brush meant for non-skid surfaces without the handle attached. Seems to work well for me anyways. Just FYI.
Thanks Scott. I use another Starbrite cleaner for the non skid which also contains PETEF (teflon). I really like the way that works which is why I listened to you and bought the marine polish.:smt043 By the way...that non skid stuff is real easy to work with.

I hope you people are right about the Starbrite, after being talked into it by Scott. :)

The force is strong with this one.......
