I just ordered all new fabric to reupholster the cushions in my cabin. I am looking for stainless stell staples and I have looked at home depot and no luck. Does anyone know were i can buy them? I will be using an arrow stapler and I think the staple size is T-50. Thanks for any help!

The Home Depot around here sells both SS and Monel. I've been told Monel are better....but I'm not sure....maybe others can help...

You might check another Home Depot or a Lowe's if they are in your area. I have also found Monel at OSH. You also may have to ask or take a really good look as they don't usually stock a lot of them and sometimes they are mixed in with the regular staples. I have done a lot of my own upholstry work and have used both SS and Monel. Either works fine. When you do find some, buy more than you need.

Thanks for the replys! Norcal what size did you use?

The best thing I did was invest $30 on an electric stapler. I have a Powershot Pro that I bought at Home Depot.

The staple size depends on what I am stapling into. When I replaced the seat skins on the cockpit seats the basese were plastic and the 3/8 staples would not go all the way in so I switched to 1/4. But going into plywood the 3/8 worked fine.

When I bought the boat there was a bag on board that had all new cockpit seat skins from Sea Ray so the Admiral and I replaced all of those and we re-upholstered our dinette and made a new mattress and cover for the aft cabin as well as all new curtains. We did all the work ourselves. If you have someone tht can sew and you use the old for patterns it can look pretty nice and you save ton of money.

Have fun.

Here is a couple of pics of our dinette. You can also see the co-ordinating curtain fabric. My wife picks the colors and sews. I do the cutting and we both do the application.

That looks really good! My Girl friend sews and her mom has done some upholstrey. Her mom is coming to visit in A few days so I thought it would be perfect timing to do all the covers in the cabin. I think I will use 3/8 staples becouse it is going in to plywood.

Take you time, measure twice and cut once and take your girlfriend and her Mother out for a really nice dinner.

I think the best part is that they would rather me cook them A really nice dinner. I will be more than happy to do that.

NorCal, I posted a few days ago about your boat, again you did a beautiful job on the interior, I think it looks great, love the material you selected to redo the seats and curtains.

Nice job!!

Thank you very much. The best part is my wife and I did it ourselves.
