So I discovered that my black leather belt is leaving marked on my white seats. The marks are bluish in color and don't seem to be coming off with the usual cleaners. I've used 303 multi - surface and a couple of others with no luck. Any thoughts on this? I'm absolutely disgusted with myself about it. Hopefully a new upholstery isn't required. It appears to be leather die transfer though this belt is 10 years old.

I had a similar problem several years back. The advice here was to let the sun fade it away. It worked.

+1 on patience and sun. I had a tech get blue ballpoint ink on one of my seats... tried everything. WD40, butter, spray-9, and several others, with minimal luck. The sun did the trick though.

This may be one occasion in which you try the hard stuff...either Toilet Bowl cleaner or Soft Scrub with Bleach. Neither of which I recommend on vinyl seats as a regular stain remover...but, it may work in small amounts in this case and worth a try. And, I too will cast a vote for good ole' Sunshine.

I might not dive right into the bowl cleaner or soft scrub, but a bit of magic eraser can help to hasten the fading process. Like Jim, I had a nice 2 inch long ballpoint pen mark on my seat from my USCG-A safety inspector holding his pen open as he moved in and out of the bilge. I couldn't take waiting so long for the mark to fade on its own. Magic eraser moistened and lubricated with Spray 9, got the mark to fade considerably. My eyeball would say it was faded about 70% with just 15 or 20 seconds of circular scrubbing with fairly light to medium pressure. The sun did the rest over the next few weeks.

I wouldn't use the magic eraser for regular cleaning but in extreme cases it can help, and I always follow it up with copious doses of 303 aerospace protectant.

When we purchased our boat there was a yellow stain on the vinyl from a polypropelyne line. At the recommendation or others on here I used Earth Brite which is an all purpose natural cleaner. It worked like a charm. I still use this for cleaning the seats once a year.

OK. A little magic eraser and lots of sunshine it is. Does the 303 protectant end up adding a layer on top of it and would that prevent the stain from fading as fast? I use 303 on a regular basis as part of my end of the day or end of the trip process. I'm wondering if I should just leave it off for a while.

What is the recommended frequency for the 303 Aerospace? After every trip or more spaced out? I spray about every 2 weeks, but I see a few of you use it after every use. For reference, during summer, we are on boat at least 5 days/week.
