The Admiral Turns the big "50" next week and we will be staying at the Don Cesar in St. Pete for a week. Looking for recomendations for a "Special Restaurant" to mark the Day!! :smt038

Thanks, Marshall

I got married at the Don some 20 years ago. Great place. You can eat there, travel a bit north and go to Salt Rock Grill (good seafood and steaks and on the ICW or you could go into Tampa to Berns Steakhouse.

Middle Grounds Grill is another good choice just a little north of the Don Cesar. You can't really go wrong with that or Salt Rock.

The really good eats is the fish spread at Ted Peters Smoked Fish not far from where you area staying but the atmosphere is not want you want for a special occasion. Also, they are cash only.

I wonder what Smoked Mullet taste like???

It's actually pretty good. Ted Peters is a staple of that area and has been there for years. Not waterfront and not a "nice" place but they have good smoked food.

We saw Ted Peters featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives so we decided to eat lunch there after landing at the Tampa Airport on the way to Anna Maria. It was great smoked fish, but probably not a place for a "milestone" birthday. I remember picnic style tables and rolls of paper towels for napkins, which is fine with me most of the time, but the admiral probably wouldn't approve for that type of meal.

Went to Berns Steak House...... Wow!!! We had to roll out of there and we didn't go to the "Dessert Room"!! Also spent a couple of Nights at Billy's in Tierra Verde.... Stone Crabs YUM!!!!!
