Anyone been? (Not via boat) we are going at the end of the month. Any "must do's?
Mike

Be sure to go to the French side (Philipsberg). There are two sides to St. Martin. Dutch side is where the airport is. They have casinos there. Never went to those. French side is opposite and I remember having lobster lunch at an outdoor vendor set up. Best lobster and was dirt cheap. Several "Clothing optional" beaches - One I recall-Orient beach 1/2 way between Marigot and Phillipsburg. You gotta go to one of these. Also, take the Ferry over to St. Bartz. Rent scooters and tour the island in about an hour or two. Very Ritzy that St. Bartz.

A must do is Maho Beach on the Dutch side.
You can go to the Landing Strip bar and watch the plains land a few yards from the bar.
Mullet bay is a nice beach to spend the day,

French side for sure. Dutch side is the port and industrial.

Have been many times, All good suggestions. I like the Dutch side as it’s lots of fun. Food, drink and island music.
Haven’t been after hurricane and covid. One tip keep your wife out of The jewelry stores

We went and spent a day on a boat with a guy and a few more people and had a blast. It is just a fun place with good food and sights….

We have gone a couple of times, rented villas for a week at a time on the French side. Clothing optional beaches are a kick. We were a bit younger and seeing groups of middle aged couples sitting around nude playing cards on the beach was different to say the least. We saw very few folks that should be seen in the raw!
I was wondering how well the island has recovered after being hit a few of years ago by hurricane Irma.

We were there on a dive trip a few years ago and there weren’t any cruise ships in port….slow day. Walking near the docks, the wife wanted to check out the jewellery…. a rather motivated salesman starts into his spiel on a particular ring, for you only $2200! Lorie was kind a playing him along, and by the time we walked out the door, he was down to $800!!!
Don’t think it was exactly the quality deal he said it was.

Yeah, tell me about it. Two trips, two $1500+ TAG watches! As years went on and we started spending time in Maui, It got more expensive on front street in Lahaina though. After dinner and drinks at The Lahaina Yacht club My wife insisted I needed a Rolex Yachtsman for my 50th B-day $12,500. Happy wife, happy life ...right?

Years ago, we took a private catamaran from the french side to Anguilla. Beautiful beach, catered lunch, etc. It was great. Not to miss if you can do it. Can't find the name of the outfit that did it for us.

I have a good friend of mine that has a condo there and spends 5 months a year, ( Our winters ) He tells me one year after the storm it was pretty much back to normal.
He said the first thing to get clean up was the cruise ship terminals.
I have not been there since the storm.
