St. Johns River

Lance did you happen to log miles, fuel used etc? Be interesting to see how far it is from Astor to Jax on the St. Johns. We usually put in at Palatka and run north and south depending on what we are doing. Thanks

I burned approx 60-65 gallons from astor bridge to Jax. I'll have to check GPS for mileage and get back w/ you, I burned quite a bit more returning home as I was running against the current. My boat is supposed to do approx. 1.5 mpg @ cruise.

Ok, it was 102.8 miles from astor bridge to main st. bridge in Jax.

My mistake, I got 60 gallons of fuel in Jax, so that means 1.7 mpg going w/the current, not as good returning. :(

Thanks Lance, good info there. We always log fuel/miles for future referance and gas stops along the river and intercoastal. Looks like you guys had a great time even with some fog you ran into.

Hey is there room for a small boat to drop in here? I'm in Mandarin and am out on the river every weekend... Always looking for other boats to meet up with... Popular stops, Rope swing in Black Creek, Whiteys, The Landing for dinner, Stopped going to the Crabshack when they left the heads on my shrimp... Oh yeah and Tubing in Jullington Creek...

User error - always room for another! I have a 260 Sundancer dry stored at julington creek marina. I sleep on it fri-sun most weekends, Friday nights are usually a late night trip to whiteys and saturdays are spent at the sand bar just south west of palmo cove (the cove that crab shack is off of) Boats name is "thats what she said", its easy to spot me.
