Have any of you been to Cabana Joe's in Prescott? It looks like it's busy every weekend as there does not seem to be openings on their docks. I was curious if it was worth effort (used to be kind of dive when it was the Steamboat Inn)?

We've docked many times at the public docks and visited the great restaurants and bars on the main drag. Great time for sure!

We like Muddy waters which has music on the weekend and good food. cabana Joe's is a bar but not the greatest food. transient slip parking can be a problem there. you can try calling Miss-croix yacht harbor and it's a short walk. The Boxcar also has great food but no music; all downtown Prescott. we often get a slip in Hudson and eat at The San Pedro cafe, probably the best restaurant on the upper river. If you would like moreinfo pm me.

Thanks for the feedback. Guess I won't be too disappointed if we can't get into a slip at Cabana Joe's. We like Muddy Waters too (good food and music). Prescott is definitely a nice town to hang around in. Hastings has a public dock now too and they have some nice little places along the river front. Have to try the San Pedro sometime this summer.

Late response....... sorry, Our new favorite spot for dinner is Pier 500 in Hudson. It's the first place you come to when you walk off the public dock in Hudson.

Cabana Joe's is a good drinking spot, not great food, if you can get a slip there you can stay the night if you need to..... if you know what I mean.

We are heading your way starting June 26th. We have a 9 day trip planned. Our turn-a-round will be somewhere in Lake Pepin. Our first trip past Dubuque on the river.

Yes Rick, Enjoy! You will be going through some of the most beautiful river areas that exist. Take plenty of pictures! Plenty of fun little towns! If you have time, stop at Slippery's in Wabasha, MN. It's right along the river with dockage and a great river view (beer is good too)!

Hope you all are going to Aquapalooza July 18th, Hudson bay WI. Last year it was great.

Rick-
As everyone one else has said, take pictures and stop at some of the towns along the way, it is a beautiful ride.

We were at the MM Getaway this past weekend, I was discussing the Aquapalooza event with the organizer for Hudson bay. They have just over a hundred boats and five hundred people registered for this years event.

I'll be there.

They're going try to tie the boats in a large circle this year with the floating stage in the center.

They will always make room for everyone.

Get there early! It's going to be a blast!
